Worth knowing about the 2022 1500
- LED lighting. The license plate is a sealed LED unit with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. These codes are for halogen reflector headlamps and base tail lamps; LED headlamp, fog and tail packages are sealed units.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows Class S chains on the rear 275/65R18 and 275/55R20 tires only, and says the Rebel cannot take chains.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 130 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (OHT-4882056) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. Base trucks with a keyed ignition may carry a different remote, so match the fob in hand.
- Octane. The manual requires 87 octane and recommends 89 for full performance. Regular will not harm the engine; premium is a choice, not a requirement.
- Fuel. Quad Cabs hold 23 gallons and long beds or the optional tank 33.
