Worth knowing about the 2017 Prius
- Wipers. The connector type is not confirmed, so choose blades listed for this model.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, brake light, tail light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. The front turn bulb is 7444NA on cars with bulb-type parking lights and WY21W on cars with LED parking lights.
- Spare. The spare is T125/70D17.
- Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables, within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
- Tires. Tire chains go on the front tires only, and the Two Eco, Four and Four Touring carry a tire repair kit instead of the T125/70D17 compact spare.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 76 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car will not pair on their own by driving; they need a relearn. Method: tool (new sensor IDs are registered by a dealer).
- Dimensions. The figures above are for the Two; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
- Dimensions. Turning circle is 35.4 ft on the Touring grades with 17-in. wheels.
