Worth knowing about the 2021 Prius

  • Wipers. The connector type is not confirmed, so choose blades listed for this model.
  • LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, front turn signal, brake light, tail light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Spare. The spare is T125/70D17.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables, within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
  • Tires. Tire chains go on the front tires only, and most grades carry a tire repair kit rather than the T125/70D17 compact spare.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 76 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • TPMS. New sensors on this car will not pair on their own by driving; they need a relearn. Method: tool (new sensor IDs are registered by a dealer).
  • Dimensions. The figures above are for the LE; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
  • Dimensions. AWD-e models are 58.1 in. tall and weigh 3,210 to 3,220 lb.
  • Fuel. AWD models have a 10.6-gal tank.
