Worth knowing about the 2010 RAV4
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. Toyota's guide lists a 12 in. (305 mm) rear blade on a Toyota-specific mount.
- LED lighting. The brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a full-size spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Tire chains go on the front tires only (the manual sets no tire-size limit), and the full-size spare rides on the rear door, except on Sports fitted with run-flat P235/55R18 tires, which carry no spare.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 76 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. Aluminum wheels take washer-seat nuts and steel wheels, including a steel spare, take conical-seat nuts, both at the same torque per the owner's manual.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (new sensor IDs are registered by a dealer)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. The smart key takes a CR1632 instead.
- Roof load. The 101.9 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The limit is for cargo on the factory roof rails and cross rails, standard on Limited and optional on the other grades.
- Dimensions. The figures above are for the Base 4-cylinder 2WD; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
- Dimensions. Models with fender flares are 73.0 in. wide, and roof rails raise the height to 68.7 in.
