The 2022 Toyota RAV4 takes 26" driver and 16" passenger wiper blades (rear 12"), has sealed LED headlights with no replaceable low-beam bulb, and rides on 225/65R17 tires as standard (LE, XLE); TRD Off-Road uses 225/60R18, XLE Premium and Adventure and Limited use 235/55R19.

Worth knowing about the 2022 RAV4

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Wipers. The 12-inch rear blade uses a Toyota-specific mount; Rain-X (R-12-2) and Trico sell direct-fit rear blades.
  • LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, daytime running, brake light, tail light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. LED headlights are standard and fog lights, where fitted, are LED; the front turn bulb applies only to bulb-type lamps.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. Placard pressure on the 17- and 19-inch tires is 33, 35 or 36 psi depending on the tire fitted, so read the door placard; the compact spare is a T165/80D17 (T165/90D18 with 19-inch wheels) and chains go on the front tires only, never on 235/55R19 tires.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 76 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Wheels. Steel wheels, including the steel spare, use conical-seat lug nuts.
  • Key fob. Both the smart key and the remote key take a CR2032.
  • Roof load. The 176 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
  • Roof. Low-profile roof rails are standard, and Adventure and TRD Off-Road models have raised bridge-type rails.
  • Dimensions. The figures above are for the LE (FWD); other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
