Worth knowing about the 2026 RAV4
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. The front turn bulb applies only to bulb-type front turn lamps; models with LED front turn signals have sealed units.
- Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables, within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
- Tires. The manual allows chains on the front tires except with 235/65R18 and 235/50R20 tires, and lists a T165 compact spare for most wheel sizes.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 76 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Roof load. The 176.4 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Dimensions. The figures above are for the without bridge-type roof rails; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
- Dimensions. With bridge-type roof rails the RAV4 is 181.9 in. long, 74.0 in. wide and 69.1 in. tall.
