Worth knowing about the 2019 Tacoma

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Bulbs. Trucks with LED parking and daytime running lights use a WY21W front turn bulb.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a full-size spare.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. Some TRD Sport and Limited trucks carry a P245/75R16 full-size spare on a 16-inch steel wheel, and tire chains go on the rear tires only.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 83 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Wheels. Steel wheels, including the steel spare, use conical-seat lug nuts.
  • TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (new sensor IDs are registered by a dealer; after rotation, re-initialize with the TPMS reset switch)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
  • Key fob. Trucks with the Smart Key System (TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road automatics and up) use a smart key that takes a CR2032.
  • Dimensions. The figures above are for the Double Cab, 5-ft bed, SR5 V6 4x4 automatic; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
