Worth knowing about the 2017 Tundra
- Wipers. Rain-X lists the front arm fitting as I&L rather than a hook, so buy a blade listed for this truck.
- Bulbs. One dual-filament HB2 (9003) bulb per side serves both the low and high beams.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a full-size spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Trucks on 20-in. wheels carry a P255/70R18 spare, and the manual allows tire chains on the rear tires only.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 97 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. Steel wheels, including the steel spare, take conical-seat nuts torqued to 154 ft-lbf per the owner’s manual.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (GQ43VT20T) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Fuel. A 38.0 gal tank is fitted to higher grades, and the 5.7L flex-fuel engine can also run on E85.
