Worth knowing about the 2019 Atlas
- Wipers. All three arms use a narrow push-button fitting rather than a hook, so choose blades listed for the Atlas rather than by length alone.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows snow chains on the front wheels only and only with a 245/65R17 tire on a 7.5x17 wheel, a size the Atlas was not sold on, so chains need that dedicated wheel and tire set.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 88 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. The wheels are held by M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts that thread into the hub rather than by nuts, and the manual gives one torque for steel and alloy wheels.
- Roof load. The 200 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Dimensions. The manual gives the width as 77.9 inches and the press sheet as 78.3 inches.
