Worth knowing about the 2024 Jetta
- Wipers. Both arms use a narrow push-button fitting rather than a hook, so choose blades listed for the Jetta rather than by length alone.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows snow chains on the front wheels only, on approved tire and wheel combinations, with fine-mesh chains no thicker than 13.5 mm, and says to ask a dealer which sizes qualify.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 88 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. The wheels are held by M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts that thread into the hub rather than by nuts, and the manual gives one torque for steel and alloy wheels.
- Roof load. The 165 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
