Worth knowing about the 2021 Passat
- Wipers. Both arms use a narrow push-button fitting rather than a hook, so choose blades listed for the Passat rather than by length alone.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows snow chains on the front wheels only and only on a 215/60R16 tire on a 6.5x16 wheel, a size these trims were not sold on.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 103 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. The wheels are held by M14 x 1.5 wheel bolts that thread into the hub rather than by nuts.
