Worth knowing about the 2014 Malibu
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Bulbs. These are the base halogen bulbs; uplevel lamps use an H7 high beam and HID cars a D3S, and the stop/tail bulbs are for LS and LT.
- Tire chains. The manual says not to fit tire chains on this vehicle.
- Tires. The car may carry a compact spare or a tire sealant and compressor kit, depending on trim.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 110 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car will not pair on their own by driving; they need a relearn. Method: tool (the manual's TPMS sensor matching process with a relearn tool).
- Key fob. Cars with Keyless Access use a different transmitter.
- Fuel. The tank holds 15.8 gallons on the base car and eAssist models and 18.5 gallons on other LT and LTZ models, and the 2.0L turbo recommends 91 octane, with 87 acceptable.
