Worth knowing about the 2015 Malibu

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Bulbs. These are the base halogen bulbs; uplevel lamps use an H7 high beam and HID cars a D3S, and the stop/tail bulbs are for LS and LT.
  • Tire chains. The manual says not to fit tire chains on this vehicle.
  • Tires. The car may carry a compact spare or a tire sealant and compressor kit, depending on trim.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 110 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • TPMS. New sensors on this car will not pair on their own by driving; they need a relearn. Method: tool (the manual's TPMS sensor matching process with a relearn tool).
  • Key fob. Cars with Keyless Access use a different transmitter.
  • Fuel. The tank holds 15.8 gallons on the base car and 18.5 gallons on the LT and LTZ, and the 2.0L turbo recommends 91 octane, with 87 acceptable.
