Worth knowing about the 2012 300

  • LED lighting. The daytime running, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. The manual lists HIR2LL (9012) bi-halogen headlamps, and models with HID headlamps use D3S bulbs that a dealer services.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. The manual allows SAE Class S chains on P215/65R17 tires and names specific low-profile chain models for the P225/60R18 and P235/55R19 sizes.
  • Wheels. The manual gives 110 ft-lbf; no figure was found for the SRT8.
  • Fuel. The 5.7-liter V8 recommends 89 octane, with 87 acceptable.
