The 2020 Ford Explorer takes 26" driver and 21" passenger wiper blades (rear 11"), has sealed LED headlights with no replaceable low-beam bulb, and rides on P255/65R18 tires as standard (Base, XLT); XLT with 20-in. wheel option and Limited and Limited Hybrid and ST and Platinum use P255/55R20, ST with 21-in. wheel option and Platinum with 21-in. wheel option use 275/45R21.

Worth knowing about the 2020 Explorer
- Wipers. The arm connector is not confirmed by a blade maker.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, front turn signal, brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. The manual lists a W21W reverse bulb, which RockAuto does not list.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Ford approves chains of 10 mm or less on the rear wheels only and only on 255/60R18, 255/65R18, 265/60R18 and 255/55R20 tires, so 21-in. wheels take none.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 150 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Roof load. The 165 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The limit drops to 75 lb on vehicles with a moonroof.
- Octane. The manual requires 87 octane and recommends 91 for full performance. Regular will not harm the engine; premium is a choice, not a requirement.
- Fuel. The 3.0L and 3.3L hold 20.2 gal and the hybrid 18.0 gal.
