Worth knowing about the 2016 Fusion

  • Wipers. Blade makers list 25 or 26 inches for the passenger side (Motorcraft WW-2700), and Rain-X lists an insert-and-lock arm, so choose blades listed for this car.
  • LED lighting. The rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, dome / map light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Tires. The manual allows cables or chains no larger than 15 mm on the front axle only with 215/60R16 tires and on no other size.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Wheels. Retighten the lug nuts to 100 lb-ft within 100 miles after any wheel is removed, as the manual directs.
  • Key fob. The Intelligent Access (push-button start) transmitter takes two CR2025 cells instead.
  • Fuel. All-wheel-drive models hold 17.5 gallons, and the manual recommends premium fuel for the EcoBoost engines when towing.
