Worth knowing about the 2022 Ranger

  • Bulbs. LED headlamps and fog lamps are sealed, and the rear lamps come in two types: type 1 takes W21/5W brake and tail, WY21W turn and W21W reverse bulbs, and type 2 takes 3157K bulbs.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Octane. The manual requires 87 octane and recommends 91 for full performance. Regular will not harm the engine; premium is a choice, not a requirement.
