The short answer

Worth knowing about the 2016 CR-V

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Bulbs. The upper taillights take a 168 bulb, and fog lights come on EX, EX-L and Touring.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. The compact spare is a T155/90D17, and the manual allows cable chains on the front tires only.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 80 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Key fob. Match the FCC ID (ACJ932HK1210A) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
  • Key fob. LX and SE use a remote-head key that takes a CR1620 cell instead.
  • Roof load. The 165 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
  • Roof. The manual limits roof cargo to 165 lb on Honda's accessory rack, and only EX-L and Touring have factory roof rails.
  • Dimensions. The figures above are for the LX 2WD; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
