Worth knowing about the 2017 CR-V
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. The 12-inch rear blade clips onto a Honda Rock Lock arm, and Trico and Rain-X both sell a direct fit.
- LED lighting. The daytime running, front turn signal, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Touring has sealed LED headlights, while the other trims use replaceable halogen headlight bulbs.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows only the SCC cable chains it lists, on the front tires.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 80 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (KR5V2X) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. The LX has no Smart Entry and uses a remote-head key that takes a CR1620 cell.
- Roof load. The 165 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Dimensions. The figures above are for the Front-wheel drive; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
