Worth knowing about the 2022 Veloster

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • LED lighting. The low beam, daytime running, brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. The manual gives the front turn bulb only as a 28/8 W type and the rear turn bulb as PY27W, so those positions are left open.
  • No spare. This vehicle shipped without a spare tire; it carries an inflator and sealant kit instead. Keep the kit in date, or carry a compact spare. Search Amazon for inflator kits →
  • Tires. Do not fit chains to 235/35R19 tires, and on other sizes the manual allows only wire or fabric chains on the front tires.
  • Wheels. The manual gives a lug nut torque range of 79~94 lb-ft.
  • Fuel. The manual says the engine is designed to perform optimally on 91 octane premium and that lower octane reduces power.
