Worth knowing about the 2009 Wrangler
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a full-size spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
- Tires. The manual allows Class S chains on the rear tires only, and only on the P225/75R16 size; the 17-inch and 18-inch tires lack clearance.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 95 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Roof load. The manual does not permit carrying anything on the roof of this vehicle.
- Roof. The manual says neither the soft top nor the hard top is designed to carry roof racks or other loads.
- Fuel. This is the four-door (Unlimited) tank; two-door models have a smaller tank.
