Worth knowing about the 2012 Wrangler
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Bulbs. The PSX24W fog bulb is sold as 2504.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a full-size spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows Class S chains on the rear tires only, and only on the P225/75R16 size; the 17- and 18-inch tires lack clearance.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 95 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (OHT692427AA) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. The 4-button remote-start version carries FCC ID OHT692713AA.
- Roof load. The manual does not permit carrying anything on the roof of this vehicle.
- Roof. The manual says neither the soft top nor the hard top is designed to carry roof racks or other loads.
- Fuel. Two-door models hold 18.6 gallons.
