Worth knowing about the 2014 Optima
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Bulbs. The H1 high beam is for halogen headlamps and HID headlamps use an H7, and SX models with LED rear lamps have sealed units.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tires. The compact spare is a T125/80D16 or T135/80D17, cars without one carry a Tire Mobility Kit, and the manual recommends snow tires over chains, says not to fit chains to aluminum wheels, and allows only wire chains under 0.47 in (12 mm) thick if chains must be used, front tires only.
- Wheels. The owner's manual gives the wheel nut torque as a range, 65 to 79 lb-ft (88 to 107 Nm), rather than a single figure.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Cars without the smart key use a folding-key transmitter that also takes a CR2032.
- Dimensions. The GVWR shown is for the 2.4 automatic; the 2.0 turbo is rated 4,497 lb.
