Worth knowing about the 2017 Soul
- Wipers. Rain-X lists 9x4 hook arms for both front blades.
- Bulbs. Headlamp codes are for the standard reflector headlamps; projector headlamps use H7 bulbs, HID headlamps a D3S, and LED taillamps are sealed units.
- No spare. This vehicle shipped without a spare tire; it carries an inflator and sealant kit instead. Keep the kit in date, or carry a compact spare. Inflator kits on Amazon →
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. A tire mobility kit is standard, and the manual forbids chains on aluminum wheels and allows wire-type chains under 0.59 in thick on the front tires only if they must be used.
- Wheels. The 2017 manual gives 65 to 79 lb-ft in its wheel-change steps and 79 to 94 lb-ft in its specifications table.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (OSLOKA-875T) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. Remote entry is optional on the base Soul, and a smart key is offered on the Plus and Exclaim.
- Roof load. The 176 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The factory mounting points take a Kia roof rack, and the limit is for driving with the rack loaded.
