Worth knowing about the 2015 Sportage

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
  • Tires. The compact spare is a T155/90D16 at 60 psi, and the manual also lists a 215/70R16 at 35 psi that the brochure assigns to no 2015 trim.
  • Wheels. The owner's manual gives the wheel nut torque as a range, 65 to 79 lb-ft (88 to 107 Nm), rather than a single figure.
  • TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool); they will not pair on their own by driving.
  • Key fob. Cars without the smart key use a separate transmitter that also takes a CR2032.
  • Roof load. The 220 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
  • Dimensions. The roof rack adds 0.4 in of height.
