Worth knowing about the 2013 ES
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- LED lighting. The daytime running, brake light, tail light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Cars with HID headlamps use a D4S low-beam bulb.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Tire chains go on the front tires only with no tire-size limit in the manual, and the compact spare is a T155/70D17.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 76 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. Aluminum wheels take washer-seat nuts and steel wheels, including a steel spare, take conical-seat nuts, both at the same torque per the owner's manual.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (new sensor IDs are registered by a Lexus dealer)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (HYQ14FBA) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
