Worth knowing about the 2022 ES
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. The 7444NA front turn bulb applies to cars with single-beam headlamps; cars with triple-beam headlamps have sealed LED turn signals.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Tire chains go on the front 17-inch tires only, the manual says chains cannot be mounted on 18- or 19-inch tires, and the compact spare is a T155/70D17.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 76 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Locksmith catalogs list both HYQ14FBF and HYQ14FBZ fobs for this year, so check the FCC ID on your fob before ordering.
- Fuel. The ES 250 AWD holds 14.4 gal and the ES 300h hybrid 13.0 gal.
