Worth knowing about the 2010 GX
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. Rain-X lists its Rock Lock 2 connector for the 12-inch rear blade.
- LED lighting. The brake light, tail light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Trucks with the optional HID headlamps use a D4S low-beam bulb.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a full-size spare, size P265/60R18. Spare tires on Amazon →
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Tire chains go on the rear tires only; the manual sets no tire-size limit.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 83 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (new sensor IDs are registered by a Lexus dealer)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (HYQ14ACX) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Roof load. The 176 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The roof rails need two or more Lexus cross rails, or equivalent, before carrying a load.
- Dimensions. Height runs from 71.7 to 74.2 inches depending on suspension, antenna and roof rails.
- Octane. The manual requires 87 octane and recommends 91 for full performance. Regular will not harm the engine; premium is a choice, not a requirement.
- Fuel. Lexus calls for 91 octane premium and allows 87 only when 91 is not available.
