Worth knowing about the 2021 NX
- Wipers. Rain-X lists push-button (D-PTB) front arms and a Toyota-type rear arm, so choose blades listed for this model rather than by length alone.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. The 7440NA front turn bulb applies to Bi-LED headlight models; triple-beam LED headlights use sealed LED turn signals.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Tire chains go on the front tires only and cannot be fitted to 225/60R18 tires, and the compact spare is a T165/80D17.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 76 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (new sensor ID codes are registered by a Lexus dealer; after a pressure change, initialize through the multi-information display)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Locksmith catalogs list both an HYQ14FBA and an HYQ14FLB smart key for this year, so match the FCC ID printed on the old key; a card key's battery is replaced by a Lexus dealer.
- Roof load. The 176 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The limit applies to vehicles with roof rails.
- Octane. Premium (91 octane) is required, not recommended; the manual says so.
- Fuel. The NX 300h hybrid holds 14.8 gal and takes 87 octane.
