Worth knowing about the 2025 RX

  • LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. The WY21W front turn bulb applies to models with bulb-type front turn signals; the others use sealed LED units.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables, within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
  • Tires. Tire chains go on the front tires only, and the compact spare is a T165/90D18 or T165/70D20.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 103 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Wheels. This generation uses wheel bolts rather than lug nuts.
  • Roof load. The 154 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
  • Roof. The limit applies to the roof luggage carrier on vehicles with roof rails.
  • Octane. Premium (91 octane) is required, not recommended; the manual says so.
