Worth knowing about the 2021 Navigator
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. The rear blade is Motorcraft WW-1107.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, daytime running, front turn signal, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a full-size spare.
- Tires. The manual approves only SAE Class S cables or chains on the rear tires, and only for 265/70R17 and 275/65R18 tires, sizes the Navigator did not come with.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 150 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (M3N-A2C940780) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Roof load. The 100 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The limit is 175 lb on vehicles without a moonroof.
- Octane. The manual requires 87 octane and recommends 91 for full performance. Regular will not harm the engine; premium is a choice, not a requirement.
- Fuel. The long-wheelbase Navigator L has a 27.8-gallon tank.
