Worth knowing about the 2025 Jetta

  • Wipers. Both front arms take a narrow-type fitting rather than a hook, so choose blades listed for the Jetta rather than by length alone.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare, size T125/70R18. Search Amazon for spare tires →
  • Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables, within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
  • Tires. The manual allows snow chains on the front wheels only, on the 16, 17 and 18-inch factory sizes, with thin chains that add no more than 13.5 mm.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 88 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Wheels. The wheels are held by wheel bolts that thread into the hub rather than by nuts, and the manual gives one torque for steel and alloy wheels.
  • Roof load. The 165 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
  • Garage fit. Allow 15.6 ft of length and 6.7 ft of width with the mirrors out.
  • Dimensions. Curb weight runs from 3,012 to 3,093 pounds depending on trim and equipment.
